FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We are located at KM 81 on route V-69, Los Cipreses HJ19. This is 4 km from the town of Río Puelo, Cochamó commune, Los Lagos region. We are very close to Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas. You can find us on Google Maps. It will show you the exact location, distance, and travel time.

WHAT IS THE ROAD LIKE?
There are two available routes, both with incredible scenery! One is from Puerto Varas to Cochamó heading to Río Puelo, and the other from Puerto Montt to Caleta Puelche heading to Río Puelo. Both have paved and gravel sections, and you do not need a 4x4 vehicle.

IS THERE A BARGE OR FERRY?
One of the two routes includes a ferry crossing.
Puerto Montt has a barge/ferry crossing between Caleta La Arena and Caleta Puelche. To confirm its operation and schedules, you can contact them at 600 401 9000. You can also visit their website www.testuario.cl or their Facebook page: Transportes del Estuario. They also post updates on Facebook about their normal operation.

IS ENTRY BY SCHEDULE?
We have 2 ways to enter. You can arrive at any time and buy your access ticket at the box office, or reserve a specific arrival time by paying in advance. However, regardless of your entry time, you can stay until closing time.

HOW CAN I RESERVE?
Reservations are made through our website www.termasdelsol.com
You just need to choose your entry time for the reservation. We recommend reserving for long weekends and holidays, as well as for winter and summer vacation seasons.

UNTIL WHAT TIME CAN I STAY?
It’s a DAY PASS — we don’t limit your experience! Your ticket is a daily pass valid from your entry until the facility closes, regardless of the ticket purchase option you chose (in person or reservation).

DO I HAVE TO QUEUE IF I ALREADY BOUGHT MY TICKET ONLINE?
Currently, we have a single entry queue.

DO YOU HAVE ACCOMMODATION?
We aim to boost tourism in the area so we can all grow together, so we only offer the thermal experience during the day. You can check accommodation options in the area on Booking, Airbnb, and Facebook, or we can help by sharing the information we have on our bulletin board. To get this info, you can write to us at contacto@termasdelsol.com, on our Facebook: TermasdelsolPuelo, or on our Instagram: @termasdelsol.

IS THE WATER NATURAL?
The water is 100% natural. It comes from underground aquifers. We do not add chemicals or cold water, so it retains all its properties.

HOW ARE THE POOLS HEATED?
The water is naturally heated thanks to aquifers from the magma chamber of Yates Volcano, emerging at 60°C. These waters mix with other aquifers coming from the Reloncaví Estuary, so they are also salty waters. It is classified as Chloride-Sodium.

HOW ARE THE POOLS COOLED?
The pools cool naturally with the climate and environment. Our team constantly checks their temperature, and if they get too cold, hot water at 60°C is released again to regulate them.

DO YOU HAVE ACCESSIBILITY FOR REDUCED MOBILITY?
We have accessible facilities. There are wheelchair ramps, so most of the facility can be accessed without problems, except for the last pools located in a viewpoint area. We have accessibility for bathrooms, changing rooms, and the café.

CAN I GO WITH BABIES?
The whole family is welcome! We recommend consulting your pediatrician for each particular case. If approved, we suggest babies only enter the lower temperature pools for short intervals of no more than 10 minutes. For hygiene reasons, the use of special swim diapers is required. If you don’t have this type of diaper, don’t worry! They are available for purchase at our box office.

CAN PREGNANT WOMEN BATHE?
We recommend consulting a doctor to confirm there are no contraindications. If approved, we suggest using the lower temperature pools in 10-minute intervals to avoid discomfort or risks.

CAN I ENTER WITH A PET?
Initially, we considered this option, but it did not have good results due to the nature of the animals. For this reason, unfortunately, pets are not allowed at this time.

DO YOU HAVE INTERNET?
We have a password-free Wi-Fi network that you can connect to without problems if you need to work or attend to something specific. Then, once you’re ready, you can fully relax!

DO I HAVE TO PAY IF I’M NOT GOING TO BATHE?
The ticket price is for access to the facility. This access allows you to enjoy all our installations. By policy, everyone who wants to enter must pay their entry ticket. Currently, besides the pools, you will find 300 meters of boardwalk in a unique natural setting, rest areas, a viewpoint overlooking Laguna Sin Nombre, terraces, and our delicious café!

IS THERE A PLACE TO EAT?
We have a café-restaurant with exquisite products! All homemade, made with lots of love and top quality. Our café is exclusively for those who have paid their entry to the facility.
If you bring your own food, it can only be consumed in the parking area. We do not have picnic areas, and outside food is not allowed inside the facility.

I HAVE A STRICT DIET FOR HEALTH REASONS, WHAT CAN I DO?
Send us an email at contacto@termasdelsol.com so we can review your case together and see what options we can offer you.

ARE THERE SHOWERS?
Originally, our intention was for the minerals in the water to remain on the skin for a considerable time to maximize the benefits of the thermal water. Currently, we have cold water showers between the pools to refresh yourself.
The hot showers project is already approved, and we hope they will be available soon.

CAN I SLEEP IN THE PARKING LOT AT NIGHT? (CAMPER - MOTORHOME - TENT)
The parking lot is for daytime use only during our operating hours.
Near the hot springs, there are beautiful places to spend the night. Many stay on the beaches of the Reloncaví Estuary. You will also find a path next to the Río Puelo bridge with a beautiful view! There are also areas in the town of Puelo where you will have no problems. It is a very quiet area.
